Rihanna's inspiration: Givenchy

Even though Rhianna is not wearing the exact Givenchy ensemble on the left, it's very clear that she was inspired by their Fall 2008 collection when she put together this ensemble.

Rihanna sported a huge array of statement necklaces with gold crosses over her turtleneck, just like Givenchy did. She also wore latex leggings, a black blazer, a black fringed scarf, strappy sandals and a Gucci 'Hysteria' bag while dining at Cafe Med at Sunset Plaza in Los Angeles yesterday.

The singer will be performing at the American Music Awards at the Nokia Theater on Sunday, along with Mariah Carey, Pink, Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift and Annie Lennox. Check back for updates on what they wore to the Awards!

Will Smith's Movie Premiere- "Seven Pounds"

My husband and I were fortunate enough to be invited to Will Smith's movie premiere of Seven Pounds. This was part of Will Smith's Good Will tour and everyone brought cans of food to be donated to the North Texas Food Bank. Smith contributed 300 turkeys to the cause.
“Make someone’s life better,” Smith said. “I made a decision that I didn’t want to do anything, or be a part of anything, that doesn’t make the world a better place.”
I encourage everyone to go check out this inspirational movie when it comes out!

Here's Smith talking to some reporters

Here's Travis signing autographs for a few baseball fans. Check out the outfit, his personal stylist got it for him (me)

Runway To Election Night - Michelle Obama in Narciso Rodriguez

Michelle Obama wore a black cropped cardigan over her black and red ombre dress which had a criss cross black satin detail cross her waist - which is very much a Narciso Rodriguez trademark - when it was confirmed that her husband, Barack Obama, was indeed the President of the United States of America, at a gathering in Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois.

Gossip Girl-Fashion and Music

I must say that I love this fabulous top Blair wore for her birthday party on the last episode of Gossip Girl "Bonfire of the Vanity."
This stunning Bill Blass Flamenco backless ruffle blouse ($1,990) is super sexy, yet classy and elegant.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see Cyndi Lauper make a cameo on the show.
Check out the song "Echo" from her new album "Bring Ya To The Brink." We all loved her back in the "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" era and still do!

Backstage Abi Ferrin New York City Fashion Week

Some of the models from the
Abi Ferrin show

Model of the Moment

Abbey and I were honored to be a part of the Abi Ferrin success in New York City for our first styling experience at a New York Fashion Week.  Little did we know that by the end of the trip we would have worn many hats. . .
producer, delegating the dressers backstage at the show and working 2 straight days in heels to make sure everything would come out perfect the day of the show. However, the last thing we would have ever thought was that one of us would actually be walking the runway in Abi's show!
We thought we had everything perfectly organized with the models call sheet posted right at the back of the runway (This is the order the models come out by number and what they will be wearing).  The racks were perfectly aligned to avoid any sort of confusion with the dressers for the models.  The outfits were neatly labeled with a card on each one with the models name and what her outfit consisted of, also if her shirt tied in a specific way there was a polaroid so that the dresser would know what to do.  We look around one more time to make sure everything is in order to avoid the inevitable chaos that surrounds the backstage at any fashion show.  . .
All the sudden a dresser runs up to us frantically telling us that her model #13 to be exact is still a no show!  At this point,  10 minutes before the show is supposed to start we are in a bit of a panic.   We can't switch up the order this close to the show -
Abi Ferrin, the designer, approaches Abbey and asks her if she ever thought about walking the runway.  She replies with "Are you kidding me? No Way"
Well, being the persuasive business partner that I am, I convince Abbey that this is an amazing opportunity and when will she ever get the chance again!?  Then I continue to tell her it will make Regalia look great if she does it.  Something clicked and  she agreed to walk the runway. As soon as the word "yes" came rolling out of her mouth
she was thrown into hair and makeup and given runway walk training lessons by one of the top models.  I think the adrenaline had definitely kicked in at this point and Abbey was in the zone.  I didn't get to see the show since I was backstage but from the sound of the crowd and the standing ovation, I know it was a sucess!
New York City Fashion week taught us a lot, we had a lot of fun, worked hard and one of us even had her debut as a model.  We are definitely going back next year!
